Passed away peacefully on Dec. 22nd, 2010 at the age of 93 years. A long time resident of Maple Ridge, BC. Bill was predeceased by his mother & father Ella & Lloyd, sister Eleanor, brother in law Bill and his first wife Ruby. Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife Hanna, step daughters Carolyn (Alan), Dianna (Casey), Donna (Bob), Cheryl (Jan), 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, sister Gloria, nieces Gaynor (Joel), Vicki (Bill); nephew Michael (Elaine), 6 great nieces and many friends. Bill was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion 88, The Lions Club of Maple Ridge and a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 2381 and also a member of the Golden Ears Winter Club. Bill will be remembered for his quick wit, sense of humour and many stories. A service of remembrance will be held Sat. Jan. 8th, 2011 from 1-4 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion 88, 12101-224th St. Maple Ridge, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ridge Meadows Hospital or charity of your choice would be appreciated. Condolences may be sent to www.mapleridgefuneral.ca

It is with great sadness that the family of Hanna Gillies announces her sudden passing on April 12, 2016 at the age of 89. Hanna will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters Carolyn Zerr, Dianna (Casey) Veenhof, Cheryl (Jan) Rynierse, son-in-law Bob Marchand; six grandchildren Shelley, Cheri, Brandin, Amy, Adam and Amber; 6 great grandchildren Nicolas, Karina, Emily, Andrew, Hannah and Jayde, four sisters Ruby, Esther, Ruth and Mina; 3 brothers Rangvald, Clarence and Edwin. She was predeceased by her first husband, Albert Sears, second husband Adam (Addie) Graham and third husband William (Bill) Gillies; daughter Donna Marchand and sister Edith Taylor. Hanna was born in Varhaug, Norway to Elias and Ragna Aanestad. The family immigrated to Canada in 1927 and settled in Enchant, Alberta. She then resided in both Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta before moving to Maple Ridge, BC. She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends and all that knew her and she will forever be in our hearts and memories. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Ridge Meadows Senior Centre: 12150-224 Street, Maple Ridge, BC at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Hanna's name.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the wonderful care and compassion she received her last few days at the Ridge Meadows Meadows Hospital.
