Toby Gangwes, age 92, of Springfield, Mo., passed away Saturday, August 9, 2008, in Maranatha Manor, in Springfield, Mo. She was born October 31, 1915, in Phillipsburg, Mo., the daughter of Austin Robertson and Edna B. (Franklin) Robertson. Toby was a beautician and home maker for most of her life. She was the organist at Cox South Chapel for many years, and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Gangwes in 2002. Toby is survived by her son, Ron and his wife, Ruhama of Springfield, Mo.; her daughter, Peggy Davidson and her husband, Wayne of Visalia, Calif.; four sisters, Geneva "Sug" Priest of Mission, Kan., Betty J. Lewis of Overland Park, Kan., Darlene Cotsworth of North Kansas City, Mo., and Ilene Franklin of the state of Arizona; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 15, 2008, in Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, 2001 W. Walnut Lawn St., Springfield, Mo., 417-886-6127. Interment will be private. An online memorial may be signed at www.walnutlawnfuneralhome.com.
