10 Year Old Liberty Boy Is Victim
Final Rites For Raymond Twait To Be Tuesday
A 10-year-old Liberty township boy was fatally injured at 11:30 a.m. Saturday when the bicycle he was riding was struck by a car on Ind. 49, 200 feet south of U.S. 6.
Raymond Duane Twait, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Twait, RFD 1, Chesterton, died in an ambulance enroute to Porter Memorial hospital.
Raymond was born in Valparaiso May 14, 1948, the son of Leo and Vivian (Pentony) Twait. He was to enter fifth grade at Liberty Center in the fall.
Surviving besides the parents are two sisters, Nancy and Janet, and his grandpadents [sic], Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pentony of Valparaiso, and Mr. and Mrs. George McPheeters of Hartman, Ark.
Services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday in St. Patrick's Catholic church, Chesterton. The Rev. Ralph Hoffman will officiate, and burial will be in Graceland cemetery, Valparaiso.
Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today in Carl Edmonds funeral home in Chesterton, where friends may call this afternoon until services.
