Minneord etter Sylvia:
Sylvia F. Blakeman, 67, of Aurora, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000 at Aurora Manor. She was born September 1, 1933 in Aurora to the late Elmer and Adeline (Twait) Burkland.
Sylvia was a long time member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Aurora where in years past she had been a member of the choir. She was employed by the State of Illinois within the Department of Employment Security for more than 20 years, retiring on January 1, 1999. Sylvia was also a member of the Irish Club.
Sylvia was a very loving mother to three daughters: Julie Dodge, Sara (Alex) Concha and Amy Baxter, all of Aurora; seven grandchildren whom Sylvia cherished: Stephanie (Uriel) Blakeman Villalobos of Aurora, Justin Blakeman of Aurora, Britnie Clouse of St. Petersburg, FL, Lindsey, Taylor, Natalie and Alexander "A.J." Concha, all of Aurora; a great granddaughter, Daphne Villalobos of Aurora; her sister, Cynthia (Roger) Wolf of Aurora; a half-sister, June Burns of Modesto, CA; her special friend, Brian Hilgen of Aurora; a sister-in-law, Jayne Blakeman of Omaha, Nebraska and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by her grandson, Robert Len Concha and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Blakeman.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 23, at Our Savior Lutheran Church. Rev. Timothy H. Swanson will officiate. Interment will take place in Lincoln Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Friday at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church.
